We were founded in October 2016, by starting a Facebook group which has been steadily built up with thousands of members consisting of buyers & sellers from across the UK with the intention of operating an affordable platform to sell their products on.

British Handmade Crafts operates as a marketplace where you will find UK crafters and artists selling their products on.

UK crafters and artists can open a shop and sell on British Handmade Crafts.

You can sell any craft on British Handmade Crafts.

We define craft as a skill of making or creating something by hand.

Please be aware, we do not allow the sale of vintage, second hand products, or resold items on our platform.

We, additionally, have a strict policy on products that may infringe copyright or trademarks and we will remove items without warning if we believe they breach our policies.

The only currency you can sell in is GBP.

No, hobbyists or self-employed can sell with us.

You do not need to be a registered business with companies house.

Yes, of course.

We do not limit you to just our platform.

Yes, just check out our social media feeds and stories to see the large amounts of daily advertising we do for our sellers, in addition to paid advertising using social media & other online sources.

We do not currently have an app but our site is fully mobile optimised for listing on the go.

Subscription, Fees & Payments

Our free plan is for 10 listings and no listing fees & only 5% selling fees

No listing or selling fees in either the £3.50 per month or £25 per year plans with unlimited listings.

No, there is no minimum subscription period.

On sign up your subscription fee is paid in advance for the period chosen.

If you decide to close your account you will not be entitled to a refund for the remaining time not used on our platform.

British Handmade Crafts does not provide refunds.

Subscription fees are taken on sign up and then either – every 30 days on our monthly subscription or every 365 days on our yearly subscription.

We do not charge any listing fees.

No, we do not offer a trial plan at the moment.

Sales are paid direct to you via our secure payment provider, Stripe.

Stripe is an international secure payment provider that ensures that all payments made are done securely and safely.

Your customers do not need a Stripe account to make a purchase with you and will be unaware that this is the payment provider we use.

They will simply be aware that the payment is secure.

You will sign up to Stripe after opening your account with us with a simple one page sign up.

If you already have a Stripe account it is a simply one click button to connect your existing account.

Yes, you can close your account at anytime.

We do not charge any cancellation fees as we understand circumstances may change for any individual or business at any time, but our subscriptions are non-refundable for the period that was originally signed up for.

Please note: An account closure is immediate and permanent.

Your Shop

We give you full control of your shop.

You list products, manage stock, fulfil orders, set shipping costs, add your own logo, branding and have your own British Handmade Crafts shop URL to link to all of your social media pages and business cards.

Your shop space is fully mobile optimized for customers to shop from on the go.

You can list as many products as you wish, it’s your shop!

Yes, you can add different variations such as colour and size to your products as well as custom variations.

Step One

Change Product Type from Simple Product to Variable Product

Step Two

Go to the Attributes Tab >  Press add Variations > Enter into the variation box i.e, Colour the enter your Variations into the box, separate each variation with | which is normally the key next to the shift key, press both together. then start adding the variations, I.e, Red|Blue|Green ect.

Step Three

Go to the Variations Tab > Select “Create Variations from all Attributes”

Absolutely, there is a notes box at checkout for adding personalisation’s onto your products.

You will also receive the customers email details after an order is placed to communicate with them regarding their order.

Yes, our system facilitates downloads so you can sell downloadable products.

When a customer buys a downloadable product, they are provided a link to download the purchase via email.

No, we do not allow the sale of vintage or second-hand products.

However, if a product has been recycled from vintage or up-cycled (i.e., furniture) then it can be sold with us.

No, currently we do not support imports from other platforms.

We allow up to 10 images per product listing.

You will receive an email notification when you receive an order

Yes, you are able to approve reviews

We do not provide URLs.

You will have your own British Handmade Crafts URL i.e., BHCrafts.com/store/your-shop-name
